Trout Creek is proudly known as the 'Huckleberry Capital of Montana' and visitors will be delighted by all the huckleberry flavored goodies in many of the local shops. Visitors flock year round to enjoy any number of activities. Summer activities include bass fishing tournaments, an annual Huckleberry festival, scenic hiking, mountain biking, 'huckleberryin', and blue ribbon fly fishing. There are also plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities as Trout Creek boasts the largest herd of bighorn sheep in Montana as well as bald and golden eagles, deer, elk, moose, and more!
The fall and winter also have their share of activities with prime
hunting opportunities for deer, elk, black bear, and turkey as well as an extensive network of snowmobile trails. Located in what's known as the 'banana belt' of Montana, Sanders County boasts the most moderate climate in the whole state.
